The QuickTrace Doll Fashion Kit includes five durable plastic quilting rulers and templates designed for easy wardrobe basics. To use, select your desired pattern style and trace within or along the edges of the template with a fabric marking pen or pencil. All seam allowances are 1/4" unless specified otherwise. Determine the necessary pattern pieces for your project: tops, tunics, and dresses require one front and two backs, with optional sleeves; pants, capris, and shorts need two fronts and two backs. Choose appropriate needles based on fabric type: stretch needles size 90/14 for knit fabrics, and universal needles size 75/11 for woven quilting cottons. For seaming, use a straight stitch followed by a zigzag for knits, or a straight stitch with a zigzag or serged overlock for wovens. If using a serger, opt for a 4-thread overlock stitch.
